Posture Matters

Ted Talks

"Body language screams." This quote always stuck with me during my high school and college baseball days. It told you a lot about certain players and their mentalities without ever speaking a word to them. It was the easiest way to get benched or crossed off recruiting lists.

Then I watched 2 Minutes a Day. It discusses the psychological impacts of body language and hand gestures. It brought the quote to life and described way more in depth of how we perceive these actions. Give it a watch and apply it next time when you are with friends. It is fascinating stuff, especially for someone like me who loves politics and speaking persuasion.

Sports

The NFL is completely upside-down. Good teams continue to lose to teams that have no business being competitive (Bills, Bucs, Cardinals anyone?). In a year where we have 18 weeks and 14 playoff teams, it is only fitting that we have so many routine upsets this year.

Villanova lost in OT to UCLA on Friday. Italy tied 1-1 and missed a game winning PK to clinch the World Cup birth (they have to win Monday and they should be fine still). Bulls have injuries and COVID issues but at least beat the Clippers. Bears had a bye week. Cubs are quiet for now. Blackhawks have finally emerged as a professional hockey team again. My teams are "meh" but let's hope that turns around quick.

Markets

Inflation is through the roof, supply chain issues everywhere, and taxes are increasing for 70% of Americans while the rich get tax breaks. As a result, the GOP is surging across the country from generic ballot polls to school board elections. On top of it, VP Harris has to deny reports that she is dysfunctional and impossible to work with. Democrats need to see the big picture immediately or they run the risk of getting destroyed next fall, making their 2018 wave look like a puddle.

Movies

Spider-Man: No Way Home officially launches their trailer tomorrow just 30 days away from movie launch but I will take it. Getting to see one of my favorite childhood movies back on the big screen soon will be incredible. It will be one of the few times I will be so excited to go to a movie theater just to experience it with other fans.
