Philosophy is Underrated Yet Forgotten
Schools and universities no longer teach philosophy. I had 2 courses in college, along with a couple psychology courses, and never found a desire to pursue a minor in either. Finance and economics were smarter options financially and they pursued my interests. Yet in post-college life, I find myself fascinated by these two subjects. I currently am studying and reading about:
1. Cosmological Arguments
2. Dante's Inferno in Italian / Vulgar Latin
3. Feser's 5 Modern Arguments for God
4. Immanuel Kant
5. Nihilism (I have read the Stranger, but time to read it again)
These concepts are fascinating yet I did not hear about any of these until after college. Instead, college philosophy meant watching drag shows and discussing bisexualism. Zero talk about deeper concepts, arguments or proofs, and why philosophy gives more meaning to God than any religion can. Frustrating that college is truly becoming a place of indoctrination, and then hard working people pay off bad loans without holding anyone accountable (to clarify, I think holding colleges responsible for loans is the start but also doesn't add up how a 13 year old can go through gender mutilation but cant decide at 18 what a good or bad loan is but I digress...)
Dive into reading in general, but go further. The search for higher knowledge and education is not something that stops at 22. Imagine if everyone in the population pursued knowledge to form truths that extend beyond what we thought was capable. My 2022 goals list will have some unexpected additions which is exciting.
